In geodetic surveying, a false origin is an arbitrarily assumed point from which coordinates are reckoned. It is applied when the true origin would cause certain features to carry negative values — placing them, in effect, outside the map entirely. The false origin is introduced to keep everything countable. To ensure nothing falls off the edge.We took the name because it describes exactly what we do. There are structures and systems that exist outside the official frame — that do not appear on any sanctioned map. Our work is the process of assuming a new origin point. One from which those things become visible. Measurable. Impossible to ignore.

Our work is built across disciplines — augmented reality, spatial design, investigative research, and immersive technology. We do not publish names. We do not publish affiliations. We publish work.
Corruption does not require a villain. It requires a system in which the wrong outcome is easier than the right one. In which accountability is routed around, authority is performed rather than earned, and the structures meant to protect people instead protect themselves. We believe that augmented reality is not primarily an entertainment technology. It is a layer. A means of placing new information directly onto the physical world, at the exact location where it is most relevant. On the wall of a building. In the air above an institution. At coordinates that appear on no official map. This is what we build.
